ASML Holding N.V. Business quality: High
Euronext Amsterdam: ASML · Semiconductor Equipment · Netherlands · Latest fiscal year ended 31 December 2025

ASML designs, manufactures and services lithography systems for semiconductors, along with metrology and inspection systems and computational lithography software, selling to Logic and Memory chipmakers. Revenue arrives two ways: system sales under "volume purchase agreements" running up to five years, with down payments collected before delivery, and recurring revenue from service, upgrades and options on the installed base. The filing reports a single operating segment, since ASML presents itself as a "holistic lithography solution provider".

Analysis last updated 12 October 2026 · All figures from ASML's Annual Report 2025, which also serves as the Annual Report on Form 20-F for the financial year ended 31 December 2025, signed on 25 February 2026. The statements are in euro under US GAAP. Three years of income statement and cash flow are presented and two of balance sheet, so balance-sheet series stop at FY2024 and FY2023 ROIC cannot be computed. ROIC is NOPAT at the effective tax rate over shareholders' equity plus gross debt less liquidity, on year-end balances; the convention is stated because the level depends on it. Invested capital is held down by customer down payments, which fund working capital, and it still includes the Mistral AI and Zeiss stakes and the Zeiss loans, whose returns are not in NOPAT: excluding them the 2025 figure would be 135.2%. The closing price of €921.40 at 31 December 2025 and the 385,417,665 shares outstanding at the same date are inputs supplied to the analysis, not figures from the filing; price and accounts are both in euro, so no currency conversion is involved.
